Motion Detectors / Movement Sensors
Why
use them for paranormal research?
These are becoming much less expensive and therefore readily
available to all prospective "ghost hunters. Nevertheless
a good high quality set is recommended.
The obvious use for them is to hopefully capture any anomalous
movement within the investigation area - whether this is a
spectral from or the movement of an inanimate object through
poltergeist activity or possibly moved by other paranormal
means.
In an ideal investigation they would record the movement of
a ghost! However the main use for movement sensors is often
to ensure that no human has entered a specific area. Obviously
if you can ensure no human involvement, tampering or fraudulent
behaviour it helps to clarify when something happens that
no obvious explanation relating to people's presence has occurred.
It is also possible to set up movement sensors, which can
trigger a camera to record. That way you may be able to save
on batteries ad tape usage by only recording when something
has been sensed as moving in the vicinity. All of this can
also be connected to a computer to log activity and times.
Motion detectors can also be linked to Surveillance cameras
and Software / webcams and remote access viewing!
