Notepads
/ Sketch paper / Pens, pencils etc
For recording as much information as possible.
Chalk
For marking anything that may need identifying.
Also for marking around furniture in the same way as trigger
objects.
Compass
To determine positions, locating magnetic forces, etc or if
venturing outside (e.g. onto a moor) for use with a map for
directions.
Flour
If you place a light coating of flour on surfaces (do not
make a mess in other people's property!) where paranormal
activity has apparently occurred the flour may get disturbed.
String, cotton,
tape
To secure areas; and for identifying if people have been entering
areas.
Tape measure
To measure places and record distances
for a plan and to maybe pinpoint exact spots here activity
may occur.
Watch
A reliable one - as time keeping is essential both for recording
the time of activity but also to synchronise
with other investigators to see if multiple witnesses are
aware of the same activity at the same time.
Torch
Essential for safety (in the dark).
Comfortable shoes and warm clothing
Self explanatory - you are often
in cold and uneven areas.
Refreshments
To keep you going during the investigation.
Medicines / First Aid kit
